The Olive Ridley Project was created in an effort to combat ghost nets (fishing nets that have been discarded or lost at sea) in the Indian Ocean. The project’s marine biologists are working with local communities and resorts to record data on recovered nets, and to spread awareness locally and internationally about the impacts of ghost fishing.
A logo, palate and a clear, engaging graphic style was developed for use across print and digital publications and for scientific presentations.

Del Bosque is a small company growing specialty mushrooms in Gisborne New Zealand.
Block printing techniques were employed to give Del Bosque’s brand a hand-crafted, rustic feel. All images were printed by hand, digitised and then used to construct a logo and accompanying illustrations for use on packaging and social media.

Coral Restoration Foundation is a non-profit organisation working to restore coral reefs in the Florida Reef Tract. Reef-building coral species are propagated in offshore nurseries and strategically out planted in areas where reefs are damaged or in decline.
As part of renovations to their education centre in Key Largo, Florida, some large wall panels were designed to help visitors learn about the vital role of coral reef ecosystems and how human behaviour on land impacts the marine environment.

In collaboration with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), this poster was produced for the Marine Research Centre in the Maldives, to raise awareness about the man-made and natural threats which affect marine turtles during different stages in their life cycle.
Each stage in the life cycle was illustrated, along with a series of icons to represent the various threats. A map of the Maldives was also included to show the location of nesting grounds.

The Olive Ridley Project is researching the ghost fishing net problem in the Indian Ocean and is training volunteers to safely remove ghost nets from the marine environment. This reusable protocol was developed to allow biologists and citizen scientists to easily record specific data on collected ghost nets.
